Code of Practice published for health bodies

The Welsh Language Commissioner has published a Code of Practice offering practical guidance on the requirements of the standards imposed on the health sector. 

Efa Gruffudd Jones, Welsh Language Commissioner, said: 

"Following the consent of the Welsh Government, I am pleased to be able to publish our second Code of Practice which sets out specific guidance for those bodies identified in the Welsh Language Standards Regulations (No. 7) 2018. Those are mainly Health Boards and NHS Trusts and the intention with this code is to provide greater clarity on the requirements of each of the standards in the regulations. 

"In preparing the code we have, among other things, identified examples of how to implement the standards that will hopefully provide practical guidance to the relevant bodies and consequently be helpful to them.  

"I am confident that it will be a practical and useful resource for them into the future."
