The National Eisteddfod is fast approaching and we are looking forward to being in Pontypridd for the week. We hope we have the opportunity to chat with many of you on our stand.
In addition to welcoming you all to come and talk to staff, interact with our place name map and ask any questions, we will also have special activities on the stand and around the field.
At an event on Monday morning, 5 August at 11am in the Cymdeithasau (Societies) pavilion, Osian Llywelyn, Deputy Welsh Language Commissioner and Director of Regulation will outline the Commissioner's vision going forward. He will discuss the co-regulatory approach, along with the proposed introduction of outcomes that represent the common aims and objectives of the Welsh Language Commissioner, public sector organisations and Welsh language users.
Osian will be joined by representatives from Rhondda Cynon Taf Council, Grŵp Llandrillo Menai and Cwm Taf Health Board along with Welsh Language Commissioner Efa Gruffudd Jones.
On Tuesday, 6 August at 12pm on the Commissioner's stand we will announce a new partnership between ourselves and the National Centre for Learning Welsh. The aim of the partnership will be to encourage those organisations that accept the Cynnig Cymraeg (Welsh Offer) to take advantage of the Centre’s Welsh language teaching offer with the aim of increasing the use of Welsh in the workplace.
On Thursday afternoon, 8 August at 2 o'clock, on our stand we will announce our official charity for the coming year.
Throughout the week a variety of activities will be held on our stand and many will be delivered by our stakeholders and recipients of the Cynnig Cymraeg (Welsh Offer).
On Tuesday, 6 August Cwmni Theatr Arad Goch will be offering theatrical sessions and on Wednesday, 7 August the Helo Blod service will be on hand to offer support to businesses and charities who want to use Welsh.
If you want time to relax amidst all the eisteddfod excitement Tenovus will be holding thoughtfulness sessions on Wednesday and Thursday morning and on Friday, August 9 Canolfan Bedwyr will offer you the chance to learn about the brand new ARFer app which aims to increase the use of Welsh in the workplace. You can view all our activities for the week here.
Something for everyone, so why not pop over and see us – a warm welcome awaits you.
