The Urdd Eisteddfod is almost here and we are really looking forward to being in Meifod for the week. We hope we get the chance to speak with many of you on our stand.
We will be there Monday to Saturday. As well as opportunities each and every day for you to come and chat to staff, use our interactive place name map, and take part in a treasure hunt with the children, special activities will be offered by our partners, and those who have received the Cynnig Cymraeg (Welsh Offer).
On Monday and Friday (27 + 31 May) Xplore's scientific crew will be with us to offer a host of scientific, musical and interactive activities.
On Tuesday, 28 May the Game and Wildlife Conservation Trust will come to present a special project about curlews in the Eisteddfod area.
The Welsh Language Commissioner’s Charity of the Year, NSPCC Cymru, will be on the stand on Wednesday talking about the many opportunities to volunteer with them.
New stage show and educational pack
On Wednesday, 29 May we will be launching a new educational resource pack as well as staging a performance of the show, Geiriau (Words). This is a show commissioned for years 7, 8 and 9 students by theatre company Mewn Cymeriad. There will be a performance of the show on the Welsh Government stand at 2pm followed by a q and a session with Welsh Language Commissioner Efa Gruffudd Jones, writer Manon Steffan Ros and actor Owen Alun.
So there’s something for everyone! Why not pop over to see us? A warm welcome awaits you.
