The Commissioner will seek to answer this question over the coming year as we prepare the next 5-year report on the situation of the Welsh language. The Commissioner must publish a report every five years outlining the position of the language and the next report will report on the period between 2020 and 2025. Think how much the world has changed in that time! Our task will be to try to draw some conclusions about the extent to which the position of the Welsh language has changed in the same period.
The next report will also have to analyse the results of the 2021 Census and the Data Dashboard on our website will be a great help as we go about compiling that analysis. But we also want to hear from you to make sure that the report reflects people's real experiences of living in Welsh today. We are also keen to share stories of how organisations of all kinds are innovating and venturing in promoting and facilitating the Welsh language.
